Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may have been romantically involved for over a decade before their split in 2018, but they have remained close friends and co-parents to their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. 

This was evident when Garner’s father, William John Garner, passed away unexpectedly in April 2023. Affleck was seen supporting Garner and her family at the funeral, and he has reportedly been a pillar of strength for her in the days since. 

A source close to the former couple told Us Weekly that Affleck “has been there for Jen and the kids every step of the way. He’s been a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and just a general source of support.”

“He knows how much her dad meant to her, and he wants to make sure she’s okay,” the source added.

Affleck and Garner’s close relationship is a testament to their commitment to their children and their ability to put their differences aside for the sake of their family. They are an example of how co-parents can work together and support each other, even after a romantic relationship has ended.

It is unclear how long Affleck will stay in town, but he is reportedly committed to being there for Garner and her family for as long as they need him.

This is not the first time Affleck has stepped up to support Garner during a difficult time. In 2018, when Garner was hospitalized for an emergency surgery, Affleck was there by her side. He also took on full parenting duties while she was recovering.
