His reaction? Buy the entire building in just 120 seconds. A gesture that is already traveling around the world and that many call “the most expensive revenge ever”.

It all started during a stay in a luxurious hotel in Geneva, where Musk was for a series of meetings reserved with European investors. According to sources inside the hotel, the billionaire would have been involved in a discussion on with the security personnel after an incomprehension regarding an unsatisfied private request. The guards, without recognizing him immediately, would have asked the man to leave the structure.

The episode could have ended with a simple indignant exit. But Musk, known for his unpredictability, has decided to react sensationally. With a direct call to its real estate and legal consultants, it would have activated a flash purchase procedure of the entire property. The operation, apparently, would have been completed in less than two minutes thanks to a pre -existing agreement for the acquisition of strategic properties in Switzerland.

According to Bloomberg, the hotel value would be around 240 million dollars. It is not clear whether Musk intends to keep it as an investment or transform it into a new European Spacex headquarters. Some already speak of a “Spacex Retreat”, an exclusive center for selected managers, scientists and partners. Others, however, think that it can be the first step towards a new Musk luxury hotel chain.

The episode aroused strong reactions. Some admire the audacity and purchasing power of the entrepreneur, seeing him as a demonstration of his “Titan mentality”.
