Vinicius Junior’s future at Real Madrid has generated much speculation in recent weeks, especially regarding his contract. The 24-year-old forward has less than two years left on his contract and, for now, will not renew his contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.

It was previously thought that Vinicius would renew his contract, but that’s no longer the case. Many articles have circulated on the matter, but Toño García has clarified some things in El Larguero (via  MD   ).

The player’s entourage has decided to maintain the uncertainty until further notice. They don’t even want to hear about a renewal. Either there was a misunderstanding, or they don’t understand what happened that made it seem like   he was going to renew his contract with Real Madrid  . I’ve been told that Vinicius never approved Real Madrid’s offer. In fact, they consider it absurd to accept an offer close to 20 million euros.

He wants to earn more than €25 million net (per year), regardless of what the other players earn. He insists he wants to be the highest-paid player in the squad and that the ball is in Real Madrid’s court. We’re in the same situation as in recent months: he still believes he deserves his salary, nothing more and nothing less. For now, they want to make it clear that the renewal issue is on the back burner, that the situation must calm down and be addressed later, but that the priority is to rest, start the season, and help Real Madrid win a title.

Negotiations are expected to resume in 2026.

No talks are currently planned, but Real Madrid and Vinicius are expected to   resume negotiations no earlier than 2026.   Both parties hope to reach an agreement at that stage, but efforts are still needed to close the gap between their respective valuations.
