John Gotti Jr, father of Floyd Mayweather’s rematch rival John Gotti III, has confirmed extra security is in place.

Their opening meeting descended into chaos as Gotti III punched Mayweather after being disqualified, which led to a mass brawl between both teams in the ring.
A rematch between the pair will now take place this Saturday in Mexico, with both fighters this time hoping to settle their feud on a fair result. And Gotti III’s father, Gotti Jr, has insisted he had concerns for his son’s safety, but has been reassured the security will be adequate.
He told DAZN: “Mexican law, from what I was told, is for every 25 fans there has to be one security personel.
“For a venue of this magnitude, you will have to have around 600 security members. So that answered my concerns.
“For ours, we are street fighters by heart. But your family is at play here, I have a lot of concerns.
“We are going to readdress and talk about the security issues, explain to us how it is laid out.
“We will have visuals of the security laid out. The security passes I spoke about before will be issued.
“And it will all be kept under control, if they had ten we get ten. There has to be a cap on it.
“What happened in Miami, Florida simply cannot happen again.”
Absolute pandemonium broke out in the ring during their first bout, with Mayweather’s large entourage reacting to protect the legend. It took several minutes for the altercation and chaos to be broken up, and a repeat of the chaos cannot be ruled out if things get personal again.
Mayweather will of course be favourite in the unsanctioned dust-up, and will likely control proceedings again as he did in their first meeting. But the ex-MMA fighter believes this is his big opportunity to shine now on the big stage and dictate his fighting future.
“This fight can dictate the course of my future in the fight game,” said Gotti.
“He’s going to be met with bad intentions. After everything that happened last time, we’ll see who backs up first.
“This is going to be a hell of a fight. It’s going to be a very interesting night. Don’t let Floyd fool you, he’s taking this seriously, he’s coming to fight.
“I’m one of only two other fighters to have a rematch against Floyd. He’s one of the greatest fighters to ever lace up boxing gloves.
Being in the ring with someone of that calibre, the challenge excites me. I’ve seen his best, he hasn’t seen mine.
“Last time, I was timid. He’ll see the real me on August 24, and I’m intrigued to see how he handles that.
“Fate gave me a second fight, and I’m making the most of it.”
