Red Bull Confirms Verstappen-Lambiase Partnership in New Leadership Role

Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that Max Verstappen will continue to work with his long-time race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, despite the latter taking up a new leadership role within the team. Lambiase, who was instrumental in Verstappen’s four consecutive world titles, will now take on the role of Red Bull’s head of racing for the 2025 season, while also retaining his role as Verstappen’s race engineer.

Since joining Red Bull in 2015, Lambiase has played a crucial role in the team’s success, initially working with Daniil Kvyat before moving on to Verstappen following the Dutchman’s promotion in 2016. Over the years, their partnership has been characterised by a mix of trust and intensity, with heated radio exchanges becoming a hallmark of their partnership. Despite occasional heated arguments on team radio, the duo’s working relationship remains strong and Red Bull sees no reason to separate them as Verstappen continues his dominant run in Formula 1.

Lambiase’s new role as racing manager marks a significant expansion of his responsibilities. In addition to continuing as Verstappen’s race engineer, he will oversee Red Bull’s entire racing operation, managing the team that builds the cars and leading strategic decision-making. His influence within the team structure now places him just below team principal Christian Horner and technical director Pierre Wache, underlining his importance to Red Bull’s continued success.

While balancing both roles will be a challenge, Red Bull’s decision to retain Lambiase alongside Verstappen underlines the team’s commitment to stability and performance.
