During a touching interview granted to Italian television immediately after the final in London, Sinner revealed in the tears: “My mother always told me: ‘Jannik, whatever happens, take care of your brother’. I will never forget those words.”
Sinner explained that, while his career in tennis exploded in the spotlight, his younger brother, a passionate music fan, dreamed of studying at the Vienna Conservatory. However, the economic difficulties of the family had often put that dream in the background.
“The time has come to return what my family has done for me. If today I am here, it is thanks to the sacrifices of my mother, my father and also of his brother, who has given up to leave me space. Now it’s up to me to return.”
The Italian champion revealed that he will use the entire prize pool of the 2025 season, including millions of euros earned in the Grand Slam and Master 1000 tournaments, to guarantee an academic and artistic future for his brother. “The money comes and goes, but the family is forever,” Sinner said among the moved applause of the present press.
