Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk has completed the acquisition of ABC media company for $790 million. This deal immediately caused a stir among media outlets and fans around the world. However, not only because of the huge amount Musk spent on the acquisition, but also because of the unexpected event that followed.
Immediately after the deal was announced, Musk decided to cancel the program “The View” – a famous talk show in the United States, where the hosts discuss current topics. Musk’s decision is directly related to an incident that occurred on the show, when Alec Baldwin, one of the guests, called Musk a “scumbag” on live television.

Although Baldwin later apologized for his comments, Musk has not reversed his decision to end the program. Many believe Musk’s decision reflects the tough and decisive personality of a famous investor and businessman, while others believe it was simply an overreaction to an off-the-cuff statement.
Despite the criticism, many in the media industry also predict that with Musk’s influence and ability to attract attention, this is just one of his strategic moves to build and consolidate his own media empire.
Will this decision have a major impact on Musk’s career or will there be more drastic changes in the future? Time will tell.
