Davide Tardozzi, director of the Rossa squad , is rubbing his hands with enthusiasm about the duo he will have under his command in 2025
Davide Tardozzi talks to Marc Márquez at Montmeló.
Ducati will have a spectacular line-up in 2025. The Borgo Panigale firm’s managers opted to sign Marc Márquez to team up with Pecco Bagnaia on the factory team. That means the Bolognese firm will boast a duo that has 11 world crowns to its name (eight belong to the Spanish competitor and the other three to the Italian).
And this was a controversial decision because they left out Martinator , who went on to win the last long race of the competition held in Montmeló. Davide Tardozzi spoke about this final victory in an interview given to Speedweek .
“Jorge Martín won fewer races than Pecco (the Chivasso driver had 11 wins, compared to the 3 of the driver from San Sebastián de los Reyes); but he was on the podium more often. He won the title because he was better ,” concludes the director of the Rossa squad .

We are not afraid of anyone because no rival has two riders like Marc and Pecco
The data does not lie
Tardozzi then went on to defend the choice they made for next season. “Our engineers look closely at the performance of the riders. They take everything into account and there are graphs. When I look at some of the data on the computer, it’s obvious to me that this kid is showing things that no one before him could do. In certain aspects, Marc is above everyone. He and Pecco have different riding styles, in some areas Marc is better, in others Pecco is much better. Pecco is unbeatable under braking, no one brakes like him, ” he explains.
Ducati’s team manager knows that having only six bikes on track next year will affect them. “Of course we will notice it. But we can take the risk because our bike is at a very high level. And because the two riders on the official team next year will be Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. Nobody else has these two, only us. They will be very strong and will improve the bike . That’s why we are not afraid of KTM and Aprilia. Or Yamaha: I am sure they will improve soon, they are taking the right steps,” he admits.
