Daniel Dubois Plans Revenge Against Oleksandr Usyk After December Rematch: “It’s Time To End Him”

Oleksandr Usyk is just over two months away from his huge rematch with Tyson Fury.

They did battle back in May looking to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis last accomplished it nearly 25 years ago. Usyk came out on top, dropping Fury on his way to a split decision victory, but he has since had to relinquish his IBF title due to the contractual rematch with ‘The Gypsy King.’

That allowed Daniel Dubois to have his interim title elevated to full champion, and he has solidified his status as a top heavyweight with a devastating fifth round knockout victory over Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium in September.

Usyk and Dubois met in 2023, with Usyk stopping his opponent in the ninth round, although it was not without controversy when Dubois had dropped the Ukrainian only for it to be ruled a low blow by the referee.

Dubois now has revenge on his mind, as he told Seconds Out that he plans to right the wrongs from the first fight and put an end to his rival’s winning streak.

“With Usyk it’s definitely unfinished business. That’s how I’ll fight him it will be a totally different outcome. I’ll go right through him.

I feel I’m changing and evolving as a human being and as a fighter. Every L that I took on the way up to this point I’ve improved massively.

From the team and the trainers, and even the stuff we’re doing in the gym, it’s just a complete game changer for me now.

“Usyk has been slipping through us heavyweights for a bit now, so it’s time to put an end to it.”

Before a potential fight with Dubois could take place, Usyk must first deal with Fury in December, and ‘The Gypsy King’ has made it clear that he’s coming for the knockout.

As for Dubois, his most likely move in the meantime is an immediate rematch with Joshua.
