It looked all but certain over the last week that the main event of WWE’s upcoming King & Queen Of The Ring event in Saudi Arabia would be headlined by a winner-takes-all match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul, with each man putting their respective titles on the line. Their interaction on last week’s SmackDown suggested that this would be the case, as did Cody Rhodes’ subsequent social media post too.
However, the events of last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown have changed things completely. The two met in the ring once again, this time for a contract signing. Despite Cody Rhodes having the intention to sign a contract that would put both the Undisputed WWE Championship and the United States Championship on the line, Logan Paul had other ideas. He stated that he never agreed to those terms, and despite protests from Rhodes & General Manager Nick Aldis, Paul pulled out a lawyer and threatened legal action.
Thus, Rhodes gave in and accepted that their match would only be for the Undisputed WWE Championship, signing a rewritten version of their contract. Regardless of the result, Paul will remain as the WWE United States Champion.
