CNN News: Two Panicked Calls for Help Before Liam Payne’s Fall from Third Floor of Argentina Hotel
The news of the death of singer Liam Payne (former member of One Direction) shocked the global audience on the morning of October 17 (Vietnam time). It is known that the 31-year-old singer fell from the third floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the evening of October 16 (local time). However, in the latest development, the Daily Mail reported that the staff of the CasaSur Palermo hotel made 2 panicked calls to 999 (Emergency Medical Response Service), requesting urgent help before the incident of Liam Payne falling from the balcony occurred. Accordingly, in the first call, the CasaSur Palermo hotel staff panicked and said: “We have a guest who is high on drugs. He is destroying everything in the room. Someone please come and help us”. This call stopped there and was abruptly cut off.
After that, the hotel staff made a second phone call, bewildered and said: “I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger or threatened. That room has a balcony and we are afraid he will do something negative. Please send emergency medical staff here”.
The media suspected that the guest that the CasaSur Palermo hotel staff mentioned in the call to 999 was Liam Payne. Previously, the police also said that the male singer may have been affected by alcohol or drugs in the fatal fall. In addition, images of the chaotic room where Liam Payne stayed before his death are also spreading on social networks. At the scene, the living room was in disarray with broken objects and a broken TV screen.
On the desk in the room, there was a box of soap, matches, candle residue, foil, a lighter, a burned soda can lid, and a powdery substance believed to be cocaine. This detail is consistent with hotel staff reports of guests being high on drugs and smashing things in the room.
Liam Payne arrived in Argentina with his girlfriend on September 30. After Kate Cassidy left Argentina on November 14, Liam checked into the CasaSur Palermo hotel. On October 16, hotel staff called 911 to report a man acting aggressively. According to witnesses, Liam Payne smashed a laptop in the hotel lobby and was carried back to his room.
On the evening of October 16, Liam Payne was found dead after falling from a building.
