On April 2, 2025 – Two promising young golfers, Charlie Woods and Kai Trump, created a wave of attention in the golf community when both had a significant leap in the ranking of the US Golf Association (AJGA) after participating in the prestigious Sage Valley Junior Invitational in South Carolina last week.

Charlie Woods, the son of the legendary golf Tiger Woods, increased 235 steps, rising to 603 in the Ajga rankings for men. Although only ending in the 25th position of 36 golfers at Sage Valley with a total score of 11 sticks above, this achievement still shows his potential in a highly competitive playground. Charlie, currently studying at Benjamin School in Florida, has contributed to helping the golf team of the state championship in 2023 and is a familiar name when playing with his father at the PNC Championship.

Meanwhile, Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, even made a more impressive step when increasing 285 steps, reaching the 530th place in the Ajga rankings for women. Although ending in the final position among the 24 female golfers at Sage Valley with a total score of 52 sticks above standard (including rounds 79, 89 and 83), participating in this tournament gave her the maximum score thanks to the strength of the group. Kai, also a student at Benjamin School, has pledged to play golf for Miami University and is emerging as a promising young talent.

Sage Valley Junior Invitational, though not an official Ajga event, is considered a tournament with the maximum value of the ranking formula thanks to the gathering of the best young golfers from more than 19 countries. This event was once a launcher for stars like Scottie Scheffler and Joaquín Niiemann, and this year, 16 -year -old Golfer Miles Russell won the championship in the male table with a total score of 9 sticks under the standard.
Although not achieving high achievements in the tournament, both Charlie Woods and Kai Trump showed that they benefited greatly from confrontation with the world’s leading competitors. The attention for these two golfers increased as Charlie’s father, Tiger Woods, and Kai’s mother, Vanessa Trump, just opened an emotional relationship on March 23, just a few days after the tournament. This has made them the focus of both golf and mass media.
With these steps, Charlie Woods and Kai Trump are proving that they not only live in the shadow of the famous family but also have the ability to make their own impression on their golf journey. Fans are waiting to see if these two young talents can continue to grow and reach further in the future.
