A hurricane called Marc Marquez is shaking the foundations of the official Ducati team, leaving the bosses of the Borgo Panigale house struggling with an explosive situation. The newly -red in red won the top of the MotoGP World Cup after a triumphal weekend in Le Mans, where he dominated the sprint race and placed second in the Grand Prix. With an advantage of 22 points on his brother Alex Marquez, the Spanish phenomenon seems unstoppable, despite the false steps in Texas and Jerez who cost him precious points.

His perfect harmony with the GP25 is a real slap in the face of teammate Pecco Bagnaia, who, despite having years of experience with Ducati, is experiencing a 2025 nightmare. “Pecco could say: ‘Others did with the GP24 what I was doing’,” commented Lewis Duncan in the Podcast Crash MotoGP. “But last year he did not win the title, and look back does not help.” In fact, Bagnaia has never managed to adapt to the new motorcycle, complaining about feeling problems with the front, a refrain that repeats itself from Thailand to Argentina.

Ducati tried to encourage him: “You are a world champion, he wanders the problem!”. But after the Jerez test, Pecco had to deal with the harsh reality: he is the problem. A Le Mans, another disaster: accident and 16th place, the first Grand Prix without points of this season. Now it is 51 points from Marquez, an abysmal gap only six races from the beginning.

Meanwhile, Marquez flies. At 32, with a legendary palmarès, the Spaniard behaves like a hungry rookie, ready to adapt and learn. “He says so much of a pilot who, with all his success, is still willing to evolve instead of resting on his laurels,” added Duncan. “Others stopped, convinced that they have nothing more to learn. Marc, on the other hand, is facing this championship as if it were the first”.

The situation in Ducati is a real mined field. The leaders have to manage a Bagnaia in trusted crisis, which risks seeing the world championship fade if not reversed the route in the next races. “Pecco has reset his world championship in mid -season, a real nightmare,” explains Duncan. “But now that the problem has understood, things can only improve. However, if it does not find the right mentality, the title is a mirage.”
