Ranking of the highest-paid boxers of 2024: Alexαnder Usyk leads the list

2024 has been a year full of big fights in the world of boxing, with several boxers standing out not only for their victories, but also for the impressive amounts of money they earned thanks to their fights.

Just a few hours before the end of the year, the ranking of the highest-paid boxers has been revealed, and among the names that stood out, some were surprising.

One of the big absentees from the top spots is Sául “Cánelo” Álvarez, who with two fights this year, reached $35 million, leaving him below the number five spot on the list.

His choice of opponents, such as Jaime Munguía and Edgar Berlαng, has generated debates about whether he should have opted for more prominent rivals to maximize his income.

The ranking, based on analysis by  Esentiα Esports , places the legendary Mike Tyson in fifth place, despite having been defeated by influencer Jake Paul in a fight that marked his return to the ring at age 58. Even so, Tyson pocketed $40 million, thanks to his purse and advertising contracts.

Jake Paul, the influential YouTuber who defeated Tyson in November, is in fourth place with $40 million in earnings, making him one of the highest-paid boxers of the year.

On the podium, Anthony Joshuα took third place after a highly anticipated fight against Frenchman François Ngαnnou in Arabian Health, which earned him $50 million.

Second place goes to Tyson Fury, who at 36 years old tried to take the unified champion title from Alexander Usyk. Although he did not win, his fights generated a total of 190 million dollars, highlighting the 105 million for his first confrontation with Usyk and 85 million for the second.

Finally, the highest-paid boxer of 2024 is Alexander Usyk. After defeating Fury in their first fight, Usyk collected $45 million, but it was in the rematch where he stood out even more, with $114 million, consolidating himself as the champion both in the ring and financially.
