Canelo Alvarez is back in the ring this weekend for another defense of his super middleweight titles, only this time he’ll enter the fight with one less belt around his waist.

The pound-for-pound great is taking on hard-hitting contender Edgar Berlanga. Alvarez will defend the WBC, WBO and WBA titles, after being stripped of the IBF title earlier in the summer for not facing the IBF’s little known No. 1 contender, William Scull.

Berlanga catapulted to stardom early in his career, as he won his first 16 bouts by knockout in the first round. The spark surrounding Berlanga has since faded, but he remains a top contender at 168 pounds and possesses the power to put any fighter’s lights out.
