The previous rivals duelled in 2023 which saw Usyk stop Dubois after being floored by a controversial low blow earlier in the encounter.

As a result alongside Usyk’s recent wins over Tyson Fury, the Ukrainian is the favourite to get one over on ‘Dynamite’ again.

That is an opinion shared by pound-for-pound superstar Alvarez, who has predicted Usyk will get the job done again and win the fight.

And he has doubled down firmly on his opinion, by placing a mammoth $500,000 on the outcome.

He tweeted: “Over the past five years, Usyk has beaten the best. Oleksandr has very strong stamina; he’s very technical and smart.

“When I see someone with that kind of focus, I back them. That’s why I placed a big bet on his victory. Oleksandr, you do you!”

Alvarez accompanied the social media post, with a screenshot of his huge wager which had been successfully placed.

The Ukrainian will be delighted to have the support of Alvarez, who like many, places him down as an all-time great.

Usyk potentially has two more fights remaining including his tilt with Dubois before retirement.

But a chance to become a two-time undisputed champion would cement his legacy in the history books.

Despite his dominance in the division as of late, Dubois is a live challenger.

The Briton since his defeat two years ago has improved dramatically under trainer Don Charles.

Dubois first beat Jarrell Miller before also stopping Filip Hrgovic, in two brilliant wins.

It then saw him become world champion for the first time in his career, winning the IBF title.

He then defended it for the first time in a monumental upset, brutally stopping superstar Anthony Joshua last September.

And he believes that is is exactly what he can do again on home soil in the same venue in front of 90,000 fans.

He said: “To have the whole crowd behind me, and knowing this is where I did it the last time. I know I can do it again.

“He’s been down a few times with body shots. This time I’ve got to throw the kitchen sink at him and land everywhere.

“I think it’s going to be totally different. If the people are thinking it’s going to be the same thing then they’re in for a shock, even their team.

“I’m trusting myself better as a fighter so I can’t wait to get in there.”
