In a bomb revelation that sends shock waves through the world of boxing, Oscar de la Hoya has publicly declared that the next mega fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford is “completely fixed”, calling him a “carefully written show” designed to manipulate fans and inflate the profits.

Speaking in a burning segment ofEl podcast Golden Hour, Of the Hoya did not stop:
“This is not a real fight. It is entertainment dressed as war. The result is already written. They are playing fans like fools.”
đź’Ą Calling the biggest boxing stars
De la Hoya, a boxer and promoter of the Hall of Fame, went further accusing both collusion fields, claiming that the negotiations of the back room determined more than just the place and the bag:
“When you start seeing a sudden weight agreement, friendly press conferences and there is no real tension, it is when you know. It’s not a legacy, it’s about businesses.”
He also criticized the media hype machine for “selling lies” to fans in what he calls “the most artificially accumulated party of the decade.”
🧨 Why now?
Canelo vs Crawford’s fight, scheduled for August 2025, has been acclaimed as a historical shock between two generational talents. But according to La Hoya, the fight is marketed stronger than is trained.
“I have seen a real hunger. I have seen fighters who are willing to die in the ring. This? This is gold marketing, no boxing glory.”
đź‘€ Reactions are poured
A few minutes after the statements of De la Hoya, fans and other combatants turned to social networks, some supported their words, others accused him of jealousy and sabotage.
The former medium -sized weight champion Sergio Mora tweeted:
“Oscar knows the game inside. If he says he is fixed, it is better to listen.”
Meanwhile, Terence Crawford coach Brian “Bomac” McIntyre replied sharply:
“Oscar has no nonsense. He is bitter because his time is over. Canelo and Bud are about to make history, clean and real.”
🥊 What follows?
With tensions now boiling, this revelation could throw a long shadow on one of the most anticipated boxing events. If the Hoya is revealing the hard truth or stirring the pot, one thing is clear:
The fighting game became staff.
