BREAKING! Dale Earnhardt Jr. Shocking Voice Frustration With Latest News on NASCAR Playoff Format

NASCAR officials met with the media for the annual preseason rules briefing at the R&D Center on Monday. One of the more notable items from the conference was regarding potential changes to the playoff format.

NASCAR will not be making any modifications to its postseason this year across all three national touring series, according to Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports.

The decision to avoid making changes in 2025 comes after Joey Logano won his third title at Phoenix in November and received criticism from a portion of the fanbase due to his overall season performance. The Team Penske driver was thought to be eliminated in the Round of 12 following the Charlotte Roval race, but advanced to the Round of 8 thanks to the disqualification of Alex Bowman’s car, which failed post-race inspection.

The No. 22 driver then won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of his best tracks, to make the Championship 4. He went on to win at Phoenix, earning the title of “champion” despite finishing No. 11 in the season-long points standings, with the worst average finish among past champions.

Unsurprisingly, fans were not happy with the news of no playoff changes in 2025 and voiced their frustrations on social media.

“Another simple thing NASCAR refuses to get right…,” said a disgruntled fan on X.

“Booo! Worst format in motorsports…,” exclaimed another fan.

“No changes to the format. No changes to the car. NASCAR literally did nothing, wow!” said one fan.

Will we see any changes to the format for the 2026 season? Only time will tell.
