Bob Arum Claims Who Would Definitely Win If Terence Crawford Faces Floyd Mayweather – “I’d Bet $1 Million On Him”

Bob Arum has been involved in boxing for nearly seventy years and has worked with almost every great fighter you can think of.

The veteran promoter, who is head of Top Rank, has made fights with the likes of Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Manny Pacquiao and many more.

The 92-year-old also promoted generational great – and in some opinions the greatest of all time – Floyd Mayweather during the earlier part of his career.

‘Money’ Mayweather famously never suffered defeat, retiring with a perfect record of 50 wins from 50 fights and won 15 world titles across five weight classes.

Arum was also the promoter for a large part of the career of two-time undisputed champion Terence Crawford and when asked who would come out on top in a prime vs prime fight between the two, Arum originally sided with Mayweather to get his hand raised.

“It’s hard to pick against Mayweather, really hard to pick against Mayweather, but again Crawford does have the talent to be very competitive against him, but we’ll never know.”

However, after seeing Crawford put in a career defining performance against Errol Spence Jr last year, Arum would now back ‘Bud’ to come out victorious.

“Crawford [would beat Mayweather]. Crawford fighting, a guy his size, is unique because one thing that he has that other fighters don’t have is that he’s totally ambidextrous. So when he shifts from orthodox to southpaw he’s equally effective either way.”

Mayweather still competes in the ring but only for exhibition fights, whereas Crawford is currently chasing a clash against super-middleweight champion and former Mayweather foe Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez
