Correction: Buffalo Bills Hire Brian Flores as Defensive Coordinator
In a significant move, Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula has recruited former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores to join the Bills’ coaching staff as the defensive coordinator. This decision comes after Flores was dismissed by the Dolphins in January 2022, following three seasons with the team.
Flores’ tenure with the Dolphins was marked by notable achievements, including back-to-back winning seasons in 2020 and 2021. Despite these successes, internal disagreements and reported deteriorating relationships within the organization led to his departure.
The Spun
After his exit from Miami, Flores took legal action against the NFL and several teams, alleging discriminatory hiring practices.
During the 2022 season, he served as a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2023, he was appointed as the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bills’ decision to bring Flores on board is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen their defensive unit, aiming for a deeper postseason run in the upcoming season.
