Aprilia has shaken up the MotoGP paddock with an official statement following Marco Bezzecchi’s shock victory at the 2025 British Grand Prix. “We are ready to do our part to repair the rift with Jorge Martin,” said Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, as he sought to mend fences with the reigning world champion. Tensions with Martin, who announced he would leave the team at the end of the season under a contractual clause, boiled over after his injuries and lack of races in 2025. However, Bezzecchi’s victory at Silverstone demonstrates the potential of the RS-GP, strengthening Aprilia’s position. 

Jorge Martin, still sidelined by fractures sustained in Qatar, responded with a cryptic message on Instagram: “This return is personal.” His words shocked fans, hinting at a possible reconciliation or an open challenge. “Congratulations Aprilia and Bez!” he added, showing respect but maintaining an enigmatic tone. The situation remains uncertain, with Honda courting the Spaniard, ready to offer him a million-dollar contract.

Rivola reiterated: “The contract with Martin is valid until 2026, and our bike can win.” Aprilia seems determined to avoid a legal battle, but Martin’s future will depend on testing the 2025 RS-GP and his physical condition.
