Anthony Joshua Nearly Completes Negotiations For Next Fight With Daniel Dubois
Anthony Joshua has all but agreed his next fight, with British opponent Daniel Dubois expected to be named as his opponent.
Joshua has revealed on social media that he is close to finalizing details for his fifth fight since losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in 2022, with the possibility of it taking place at Wembley on September 21.
“I’m almost done with the negotiations for the next battle! Feeling motivated,” Joshua, 34, shared on Twitter.
Dubois could be the contender after he beat Filip Hrgovic in Riyadh in the eighth round to win the IBF interim title on June 2, a win that made him a mandatory challenger for the full belt .
If as expected, the IBF title could be stripped from Usyk for not being able to face Dubois in his rematch with Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia on December 21. Usyk was crowned world heavyweight champion The world undisputedly defeated Fury in their first fight last month, adding the WBC belt to the IBF, WBA and WBO titles he won from Joshua.
Deontay Wilder was once considered Joshua’s arch-rival but his fifth-round knockout by Zhilei Zhang earlier this month signaled the end of his time as a contender in the division.
