Anthony Joshua Eyes Redemption: Hearn Lays Out Return Plan

According to Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua will make his comeback to the ring for his must-win bout next summer.

In September, the 35-year-old lost his most recent bout for the IBF title to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois via violent knockout.

Joshua’s next bout is crucial because, as his promoter Hearn acknowledged last week, he might have to hang up his gloves after another loss.

AJ was scheduled to face Dubois again in February, but his coaches persuaded him to take a break and give some lingering ailments time to heal.

Additionally, Hearn has disclosed that Joshua would soon be battling for his career.

Hearn remarked, “You’ll see him back around May or June.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn (right) has admitted that Joshua’s next fight could well be his last

‘There’s a lot of work to do for AJ (but) he’s very motivated, he’s had a good rest.

‘For me, the two fights are Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury.’

Fury is currently gearing up for next month’s unified heavyweight title rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson Fury would be Hearn’s ideal choice as an opponent but the Gypsy King is currently focused on next month’s unified heavyweight title rematch with Oleksandr Usyk

However, Hearn has not given up on staging one of the greatest battles in British history between Joshua and the Gypsy King.

“Every day, people ask me about this fight,” Matchroom CEO Hearn said to Pro Boxing Fans.”You will witness that fight, whether Fury defeats Usyk.” However, since Tyson Fury would be the heavyweight champion once more, we would much rather he won.

“That fight needs to happen in 2025, and I think it will.”
