Anthony Joshua Asserts Tyson Fury Has No Chance of Defeating Oleksandr Usyk in Their Highly Anticipated Rematch

Anthony Joshua Doubts Tyson Fury’s Chances Against Oleksandr Usyk in Rematch

Anthony Joshua has expressed skepticism regarding Tyson Fury’s prospects in his upcoming rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, slated for December 21 in Saudi Arabia. Fury, who suffered a split decision defeat to Usyk in their previous encounter, faces a significant challenge according to Joshua, who observed the bout ringside.

Joshua, preparing for his own fight against Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title on September 21 at Wembley Stadium, believes Fury must adjust his approach and mentality for the rematch.

“I said Usyk will win,” Joshua remarked to IFLTV. “I said that from 2023. I do think Fury’s a good fighter, but there’s levels.”

Reflecting on Fury’s past performance against Usyk, Joshua highlighted potential complacency on Fury’s part and stressed the importance of respecting an opponent’s capabilities. “A cruiserweight nearly knocked him out,” Joshua noted, emphasizing the need for Fury to learn from his experiences.

Regarding Fury’s attitude leading up to the rematch, Joshua suggested a change in mindset. “You should give them the credit they deserve to make sure you don’t go in there thinking you’re gonna bully someone,” Joshua advised.

Joshua, who is confident about his own upcoming fight and potential future clash with Fury, expressed doubt about Fury’s ability to defeat Usyk again. “Me personally, what I think. No. No way,” Joshua stated when asked if Fury could emerge victorious in the rematch. “It’s not that I don’t rate Fury, I think Fury’s good. He got himself to that position. I just don’t think he’s better than Usyk.”

With both Joshua and Fury expected to face Dubois and Usyk respectively, boxing fans eagerly anticipate the outcomes of these high-profile matches, which could set the stage for a much-anticipated showdown between Joshua and Fury in the future.

Joshua’s comments underscore the intense competition and strategic calculations within the heavyweight division, where every fight carries significant implications for the fighters’ legacies and future opportunities in the sport.
