A new document from the FIA reveals that Max Verstappen must receive a different penalty and that’s it!
An official document from the FIA, the Formula 1 regulatory body, explains why Max Verstappen escaped a more severe penalty.
On Sunday, Verstappen took off from pole position for the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia, which took place at the Jeddah Corniche circuit.
However, the Dutch team’s chances of winning the bullfight were low after they received a 5-second penalty for an accident in the first time, leading to McLaren’s Oscar Piastri.
We entered the first curve from side to side, with Piastri on the inside and Verstappen on the outside.
If you approach the curve, the Red Bull driver will expect you to leave the track before returning to action in first position.
After being reviewed by the commissioners, Verstappen received a punishment for “track racing and gaining advantage”.
Plates went to bullfight in front of Holland and estrela by Ferrari Charles Leclerc.
After the bullfight, Verstappen was visually disheartened and “recused” from participating in the celebrations with champagne on the podium before the Red Bull chef, Christian Horner, presented images of himself inside the chariot to contest the penalty.
However, in agreement with the official document from the FIA, how can we be the best for Verstappen.
The document stipulated that a normal penalty for skiing the track to gain serious advantage of 10 seconds.
But the FIA explains: “Normally, the basic penalty for racing and gaining a lasting advantage is 10 seconds.
“Nevertheless, given that this was an accident on the first time and on the first bend, we consider this an extenuating circumstance and impose a penalty of 5 seconds.”
Fortunately for Verstappen, he will not have an additional penalty point on his license for the plate game.
Dutch F1 journalist Erik van Haren wrote to the club’s editorial team: “He also does not have an additional penalty on his license. Because he did not have a dangerous accident (gain advantage on the track).”
“Once you have seen the pontos, the first pontos will be discounted at the end of June.”
