Tyson Fury still has plenty he wants to achieve in the boxing ring.
First on his agenda is a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in December. It will be the first time he has gone into a fight against someone who has beaten him before and exacting revenge and reversing the only loss on his professional ledger is a high priority for ‘The Gypsy King.’
The first time the two met back in May was a historic occasion that saw the first undisputed heavyweight champion crowned for almost 25 years.
Ukrainian technician and former undisputed cruiserweight world champion Usyk came out on top after a close back-and-forth contest. It was decided largely by one impressive ninth round for Usyk in which Fury was given a 10 count after being caught with a big hook.
He has said he will be better and more focused when the two meet again.
The rematch is regarded as the best fight in heavyweight boxing but Fury has admitted he can’t wait to watch the contest that will perhaps be the biggest fight when former heavyweight legend Mike Tyson take on Jake Paul.
The fight will be streamed live in Netflix and can be viewed as part of a regular subscription, leading many to believe it could break live boxing viewership records. It’s the first time ‘Iron Mike’ has fought since an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which came some 18 years after his last professional fight.
Speaking on his own social media, Fury shared a clip of Tyson back in training with the caption:
“Can’t wait to see the living legend [Mike Tyson] with boxing gloves on again.”
Tyson will be almost 30 years older than Jake Paul when the two fight. Though Paul is coming off the back of a string of first-round wins, he has never fought anyone of the level of the former unified champion.
