Oleksandr Usyk etched his name further into boxing’s annals by clinching victory over Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight championship.

Despite Fury’s commendable performance, particularly in the middle rounds, Usyk’s remarkable knockdown in round nine proved pivotal, securing him a split decision win on the scorecards. With the contractual rematch clause now activated and set for December, Team Fury remains optimistic. Tommy, Tyson’s half-brother, assured IFL TV that ‘The Gypsy King’ was handling the defeat well.
“Tyson’s alright, all good, all good. Listen, at the end of the day it was a close fight. I personally felt Tyson did enough to win it. I thought the first half of the fight was a shutout, and he picked up a couple of rounds after that, so I thought he won the fight.”
