The rumors of Aaron Rodgers joining the Vikings are becoming more and more nauseating by the day. The Vikings should definitely stay away from him this offseason.

For the last two decades, Minnesota Vikings fans have despised Aaron Rodgers. So, it should come as no surprise that the majority of the Vikings fan base wants absolutely nothing to do with anything connecting their favorite team to the current New York Jets quarterback this offseason.

Following their first-round playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week, Minnesota’s offseason has quickly centered around what the team will do at the quarterback position during the next few months. viết tiêu đề cho nội dung này

Sam Darnold just helped the Vikings finish the 2024 season with a 14-3 record, but he’s not going to be cheap to bring back, and Minnesota has its 2024 first-round draft pick, J.J. McCarthy, ready to take over the starting job if that’s the direction they want to go.

For whatever reason, however, some believe the Vikings might be a good landing spot for Rodgers, as his future with the Jets is currently uncertain. Unfortunately for him, Minnesota is actually trying to win a championship in the near future, so acquiring a washed-up ego-maniac this offseason is not exactly what one would refer to as the “missing piece” the Vikings need to reach their goals.

Fran Tarkenton has a better chance of playing for the Minnesota Vikings in 2025 than New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers
Aside from the fact that he’s 41-years-old, he’d rather fly to Egypt than build chemistry with his teammates, and he likely has multiple six-figure offers on the table to host a conspiracy theorist podcast, Rodgers just isn’t good at football anymore.

In 2024, the New York quarterback ranked 23rd in the NFL in adjusted yards gained per pass attempt, 25th in bad throw percentage, 27th in passing success rate, 31st in QBR, 34th in completion percentage, and his PFF offensive grade ranked 17th among qualifying quarterbacks.

Now, some similar feelings were had about Darnold before the start of the 2024 season (not the conspiracy theorist podcast part), but Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell was able to help him perform at a high level for the first time in his NFL career.

Could O’Connell get more out of Rodgers than what New York was able to this season? One would like to think the Vikings head coach would, but he also probably wouldn’t want to.

O’Connell and his coaching staff have spent the last three years re-building the culture inside Minnesota’s locker room, and adding a drama architect like Rodgers would go against everything they’ve created.

So, while it might be fun for some to link the current Jets quarterback to the Vikings so he can continue to follow the path of Brett Favre, the only place where Rodgers in a Minnesota uniform will exist in 2025 is on Instagram jersey-swap accounts.
