FIA can’t Cover Up anymore: Fully Turns Over against Mclaren after Series of Accusations from all drivers and teams

The Formula 1 world has erupted in controversy, as the FIA has been forced to fully confront McLaren after receiving a series of complaints from top drivers and teams, including Red Bull and Ferrari. The primary issue at hand is McLaren’s rear wing, which has sparked a heated debate over its legality and whether it provides the team with an unfair advantage.

Max Verstappen, a key figure in raising the alarm, commented, “I’ve seen the footage, and that’s the beauty of social media, right? Everyone’s ready with videos. Clearly, it moved when the car was running at high speed. Whether the design is clever or not, it’s up to the FIA to decide if it’s legal. Baku wasn’t the first time it was used.” Verstappen’s remarks highlighted the importance of clarifying not just rear wing flexibility but also the front wing’s design, questioning how much flexing should be allowed.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc echoed similar concerns but left the details to his team principal. “I think Fred [Vasseur] will explain more about this, but from what I know, at the very least, it’s controversial. I’ll stop here and let Fred comment further,” Leclerc said, alluding to ongoing discussions within Ferrari about McLaren’s potential breach of regulations.

Sergio “Checo” Pérez was more direct in his criticism, labeling McLaren’s car as “clearly outside the regulations.” He added, “It’s an illegal car. But somehow, it seems to be allowed. I’m quite surprised.”

The FIA’s handling of the situation has come under intense scrutiny, with fans and insiders accusing the governing body of initially downplaying the issue to avoid confrontation. However, as accusations from drivers and teams mounted, the FIA had no choice but to fully investigate McLaren’s designs.

The fallout from this situation could have significant implications, with McLaren potentially facing penalties if their rear wing is deemed illegal. As teams continue to push the boundaries of F1 regulations, the FIA’s decision on this matter could set a precedent for future technological innovations and rule enforcement.

The motorsport community is now awaiting the FIA’s next move, as McLaren’s rear wing saga continues to develop into one of the season’s biggest controversies.
