SAD NEWS: Jets did not give Aaron Rodgers ultimatum on “Pat McAfee Show”

The New York Jets moved on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers because of his weekly appearances on the “Pat McAfee Show.”

Well, evidently some thought that was the case because NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport felt the need to clarify that was not the case after the team and player did decide to go their separate ways.

In a separate report last week, it was noted that the Jets were not big fans of Rodgers and his weekly stint on the ESPN program. Rap Sheet did not deny that, but he did attempt to clear the air by saying that was not the single reason for the split nor an ultimatum.

“This was a product of several conversations,” Rapoport said.

That makes much more sense. The choices a team makes in the NFL stem well beyond just an appearance on a show.

What likely weighed into the decision much more than that was a desire from the new front office, including head coach Aaron Glenn, wanting a clean slate.
