Paris Fury has shared insights into her separation from Tyson Fury during their younger years, recounting how the pressures of wedding planning almost drove them apart.
Despite being married since November 2008, the couple’s journey began in their teenage years. Together, they’ve raised seven children, establishing themselves as a prominent power couple in the boxing world. Yet, their relationship hit a rough patch before their wedding. In 2008, Tyson proposed moving up the wedding date after missing out on the Olympics in Beijing.
However, Paris felt he underestimated the complexity and stress of wedding preparations, leading to their temporary split. Excerpts from her memoir, Love and Fury, reflect her sentiments: “My fiancé simply didn’t grasp the extent of planning and coordination involved in a wedding.”
“I began to understand just how impulsive he could be, someone who thrived on living in the moment and making spur-of-the-moment decisions. In Tyson’s world, our wedding day seemed as flexible as one of his boxing matches, subject to sudden changes on a whim.
Unable to find common ground, I took a stand. I made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding entirely and end our relationship.
