🚨No luck for Leclerc: No TPC race in Barcelona after Hamilton crash

Lewis Hamilton’s Wednesday race did not go as planned at the Barcelona-Catalopia circuit, but his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was just as disappointed. The gas pilot was supposed to take off the SF-23 in the afternoon, but could not do so because of the damage sustained during the accident.

Bad luck for Leclerc: No TPC race in Barcelona after Hamilton crash

Hamilton drove the SF-23 (the car Ferrari competed in during the 2023 season) on the second day of the TPC session (previous car testing) scheduled by the team in Barcelona. The Briton lost control of the Ferrari at around 11am local time. It is said that this happened during the normal part of the test that Ferrari was carrying out with Hamilton behind the wheel. Hamilton has not yet fully mastered the Ferrari, having driven for Mercedes for more than a decade.. It was only the second time that Hamilton had driven the Ferrari, after his brief first race at Fiorentina.

Ferrari’s plan was to repair the car for Leclerc, who was due to do the laps that afternoon. Once the car was brought to the garage, the team found that it would take longer to repair the car than they had originally hoped. Due to the sun setting, it was not possible for Leclerc to go out on the track.
