In a powerful step toward promoting diversity and inclusion in business, the New Jersey Devils, in partnership with Prudential Financial, have expanded a groundbreaking program designed to empower Black entrepreneurs. This initiative, aimed at fostering growth and success for Black-owned businesses, combines mentorship, marketing opportunities, and financial support to help these entrepreneurs thrive in a competitive landscape.

The program, initially launched as a pilot project, has now been expanded to provide even more resources to participants. Through this collaboration, the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Financial will offer mentorship from industry leaders, strategic marketing support, and access to a vast network of business professionals. The goal is to help Black entrepreneurs build lasting relationships and grow their businesses with the necessary tools and visibility to succeed.

Key components of the expanded program include:
Mentorship and Training: Participants will receive guidance from experienced business mentors, helping them navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. These experts will provide advice on business strategy, financial management, and scaling operations.
Marketing and Visibility: As part of the initiative, Black entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to promote their businesses through marketing campaigns, leveraging the New Jersey Devils’ extensive media platform, including social media, events, and broadcasts. This exposure will help drive customer engagement and increase brand awareness.
Networking Opportunities: Through exclusive networking events, participants will connect with investors, industry leaders, and other entrepreneurs, expanding their professional networks and finding potential collaborators or customers.
Financial Support: Prudential Financial’s involvement ensures that the program offers financial education and resources, helping entrepreneurs better manage and invest their funds for long-term growth and stability.
The New Jersey Devils and Prudential Financial have been clear about their commitment to increasing diversity and providing equitable opportunities for underserved communities. “This initiative represents our commitment to breaking down barriers for Black entrepreneurs,” said Devils’ President of Business Operations, Hugh Weber. “By providing mentorship, resources, and the exposure necessary for growth, we aim to create a more inclusive business environment where every entrepreneur has the chance to succeed.”
The expanded program has already seen significant success, with participating businesses reporting growth in both revenue and customer base. By amplifying the voices and businesses of Black entrepreneurs, the Devils and Prudential are setting an example for how sports teams and corporations can use their platforms for social good.
As the program continues to evolve, the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Financial hope that their efforts will inspire other organizations to support underrepresented groups and create pathways to success for all entrepreneurs, regardless of their background. This initiative stands as a vital step in addressing systemic inequalities and fostering a more inclusive and diverse business community.
