Meghan Markle is reportedly encouraging Prince Harry to move past the grievances and disputes of the past, suggesting that dwelling on old quarrels is unproductive. According to Jennie Bond, a former royal correspondent, Meghan sees Harry’s tendency to reflect on past injustices as a waste of time and believes focusing on the future is healthier for their new life in the United States.

The couple relocated to the US in 2020 after stepping down as senior members of the British royal family. Since then, Prince Harry has reportedly struggled to let go of the past, with friends claiming that he often “spends most of his time thinking of the past.” As Harry approaches his 40th birthday, these reflections have become more pronounced, causing concern for those close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Bond suggested that Meghan’s encouragement for Harry to “move on” is a positive step. She explained to OK! magazine, “If Meghan is encouraging Harry to leave the past behind and move on, then I think it is a healthy move. They have made their decision, left the working Royal Family, and left the UK.” She added that brooding over perceived past injustices is unproductive and that Meghan seems to understand this.

However, Bond also noted that it might be easier for Meghan to look forward because she does not share the same deep-rooted history with the royal family as Harry. “She doesn’t have an entire and complex history of life in the confines of the royal family to worry about,” Bond said. “It’s easy for her to look forward, ensconced as she is in a country and lifestyle she is so used to and clearly loves.”

Despite this, Prince Harry has expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, indicating that his thoughts frequently return to past events and how they have influenced his current circumstances. This dynamic reportedly frustrates Meghan, who appears more comfortable with the estrangement from her own family and is focused on their future in the US.

The couple’s relationship with the royal family has been strained since their departure from royal duties, particularly after the release of Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” and their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. Reports suggest that Harry and his brother, Prince William, are “barely” on speaking terms.
