Engagement rumours involving Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have swirled for almost as long as the celebrity pair have been dating.

Swift has been a regular attendee at Kelce’s NFL games over the past two seasons, while the American football star has been seen supporting the songwriter at live performances.

The latest whispers whipped up this week after pictures from the wrap part for the iconic singer’s hugely successful Eras Tour caused fans online to speculate that Swift’s ring finger was deliberately obscured in the images.

According to a source close to Swift, the theories are wide of the mark and that she and Kelce are not engaged, although the NFL player’s family are eager for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end to get down on one knee.

“He does read some of these stories because it cannot be avoided,” the source told DailyMail.com. “And he finds some of it hilarious because he knows how much the world wants this to happen. At times it can be overwhelming for him.

“His family jokes with him about a wedding and pits him up against his brother whose wife is already popping out more babies.

“Taylor and Travis find it extremely humorous that they have been engaged every day since they got together.

“These engagement rumours started from day one and they do not know how they can even have a public engagement at this point.”

The source also revealed that when the times comes that Kelce eventually proposes to Swift, he will make it a memorable spectacle – if not a public one.

“Travis is going to have to go above and beyond but it won’t be a public spectacle,” they said. “They are both aware of the fact that the whole world is so thirsty for them to be engaged and, while Taylor does want a white wedding one day, her friends just feel like people need to chill and let them be a couple.

“They are not worried about those close to them leaking info because people who know them respect this.

“When and if Travis does make this happen it will be for Taylor and for Taylor only.”
