Everyone shocked by yet another Yamaha V4 engine test. New non-working spare part makes Quartararo Brutal talk and go away

The MotoGP world is once again in turmoil after yet another test of the Yamaha V4 engine, a test that has left many fans and insiders stunned. Unfortunately, Yamaha continues to have to deal with its technical problems, and this time the situation degenerated with a spare part that did not work as expected, creating no small difficulty during the test. However, it is not only the malfunction that is making noise, but also the brutal reaction of Fabio Quartararo, the French rider who has decided to take a clear position.

MotoGP is a world where every little detail can make a difference, and when a team like Yamaha, which has dominated the scene in the past, finds itself dealing with such difficulties, the repercussions are inevitable. The new V4 engine, billed as a step forward for the Japanese manufacturer, was supposed to be the solution to the performance issues that Quartararo and the team had experienced in previous seasons. However, during testing, the spare part that was supposed to improve the engine’s performance proved to be faulty, forcing the rider to interrupt his laps and causing great disappointment.

Quartararo’s reaction was not long in coming. In an interview immediately after the accident, the French rider did not hide his frustration, speaking harshly about the situation. “It is not possible to continue like this. Every time we try something new, we find ourselves with problems that should not be there. This is not the bike I want, and it is not the type of work I expect from a world-class team like Yamaha,” said Quartararo. His reaction was, without a doubt, one of the strongest ever seen in recent years in the MotoGP paddock.

This new chapter of difficulty for Yamaha comes at an already delicate moment for the team, which has seen a disappointing season in 2024. The lack of competitiveness compared to other brands, such as Ducati and KTM, has fueled criticism both internally and externally, with many starting to question whether Yamaha is still capable of competing at the highest level.

Quartararo’s decision to openly express his disappointment could have far-reaching implications. The French rider, who won the championship in 2021, has been one of the few capable of challenging the most powerful bikes in recent years. However, his patience seems to be wearing thin, and his words could be a sign that his stay with Yamaha may not last long if the issues are not resolved.

On the other hand, the Yamaha team will have to face a difficult situation. The technical problems that continue to emerge not only put at risk the sporting results, but also the internal stability of the team. The reliability of the engine and the competitiveness of the bike are crucial factors for a team that aims to return to the top of MotoGP. If Yamaha cannot solve its problems quickly, it risks losing one of its most talented riders and seeing itself overtaken by brands that, like Ducati and KTM, continue to grow exponentially.

Yamaha’s future in MotoGP now depends on the team’s ability to address these issues and deliver a competitive bike. Quartararo’s reaction, however, suggests that solutions will have to come soon. MotoGP fans and enthusiasts are holding their breath, waiting to see whether Yamaha can solve its problems and return to competing at the top, or whether the malfunctioning V4 engine will spell the end of its era of dominance.

The 2025 season is upon us, and if Yamaha doesn’t make significant changes, they risk finding themselves chasing other teams, instead of fighting for the title.
