Anthony Joshua Was Absent From The Fury-usyk Fight, Who Has Now Made Allegations About The Scoring Of The Fight

Usyk and Fury met in their highly-anticipated rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seven months on for their first meeting for undisputed heavyweight honours.

It was Usyk that was victorious back in May, earning a ninth round knockdown which was enough to claim a split decision win on the scorecards.

This time around there wasn’t any knockdowns scored, but it was just as competitive and close as both men went the 12-round distance for the second consecutive fight.

Usyk found himself with his hand raised once again, with all three judges scoring it 116-112 in his favour as he won by unanimous decision.

As always with big fights, there was a lot of contention about the scorecards, with some agreeing that Usyk did enough to win, and others claiming they were far too wide.

Joshua’s scorecard for the rematch has now been revealed during the DAZN broadcast, and he agreed with the outcome after scoring it 115-114 in Usyk’s favour, after scoring the final round a draw.

Usyk and Joshua met on two occasions in 2021 and 2022, with the Ukrainian winning the first fight by unanimous decision to dethrone ‘AJ’ of his world title belts, before then retaining them with a split decision win in the rematch.

Joshua was last in action in September when he suffered a fifth round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title.

A potential all-British showdown between Joshua and Fury could now be set to take place in 2025, but with a lot less appeal than what could have previously been.
