🛑 Allstate CEO’s Sugar Bowl message sparks social media outrage amid New Orleans turmoil aftermath

Allstate CEO Tom Wilson faced backlash for a “tone-deaf” Sugar Bowl ad referencing the New Orleans terror attack, sparking social media outrage and boycott threats. The company later issued a statement.

Tom Wilson, the CEO of Allstate, faced social media backlash after appearing in a strange advertisement at the Sugar Bowl, following the New Year’s Day terror attack in New Orleans.

The eagerly awaited college football game, where Notre Dame defeated Georgia, was delayed by 20 hours after Shamsud-Din Jabbar killed 14 people by ramming a truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street on Wednesday morning.

Before kickoff on Thursday, Wilson addressed the crowd at Caesars Superdome and ESPN’s television audience.

“Welcome to the Allstate Sugar Bowl,” said the insurance executive, whose company sponsors the event. “Wednesday, tragedy struck the New Orleans community. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We also need to be stronger together by overcoming an addiction to divisiveness and negativity. Join Allstate working in local communities all across America to amplify the positive, increase trust, and accept peoples’ imperfections and differences. Together we win.”

The video faced heavy criticism online, with many Allstate customers threatening to boycott the company, calling it “tone-deaf” in light of the recent tragedy.

Social media users slammed Allstate CEO Tom Wilson’s video message in posts by Zach Dean, FoxDigital, and others who shared it. One user aptly remarked, “Internet never forgets,” while sharing the video.

Woke Allstate is trying to scrub their disgusting video about the New Orleans terrorist attack from the internet, but it’s too late.

Customers are already fleeing.
Zach Dean shared the now deleted post with the caption “Incredible”

This is crazy by Allstate.
Replying to Zach Deans’ post several users called for boycott of the brand and one user went to the extent of saying that maybe the brand should change their name to Allahstate, “Maybe they’ll rebrand as Allahstate.”

The company has since deleted the video from its social media channels following the criticism. Allstate has now provided a statement to Fox News Digital condemning “violence in all forms.”

A jihadist attacked and injured dozens of innocent Americans in a hate-fueled rampage, and the Allstate CEO uses the Sugar Bowl to lecture viewers on “overcoming an addiction to divisiveness and negativity”?

“To be clear, Allstate CEO Tom Wilson unequivocally condemns this heinous act of terrorism and violence in all forms. “We stand with the families of the victims, their loved ones and the community of New Orleans.” “The reference to overcoming divisiveness and negativity reflects a broader commitment to fostering trust and positivity in communities across the nation.”

However, the social storm has already begun and will take some time to pass.
