Michael Jackson – “The King of Pop”

There’s a reason they call you the “King of Pop,” right? But even though we love his music, the late singer’s life wasn’t easy.
Early on, while singing with his brothers in the Jackson Five , Michael had problems at home, which were not helped by a very strict father who was quick to punish his children if they did not conform to the rules.
You could say that Michael Jackson was a product, a person who was designed to become an artist and singer from his earliest days. However, that doesn’t take away from the sheer genius found in his music, dancing, and writing.
When Michael Jackson died in 2009, the whole world mourned the singer. He was hounded by paparazzi and tabloids for most of his life, but even at his final funeral, he was not spared.
Paris Jackson – Michael’s daughter
The helicopters carrying his body from the Los Angeles hospital were followed by other media helicopters. Even today, news of Michael Jackson and his family is published around the world.
Today, it is mainly his family members who attract attention. His children are particularly targeted, as many paparazzi want their piece of the pie.
Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson’s second daughter, has lived in the spotlight her entire life. Today, she’s doing everything she can to be her own person, and not just Michael Jackson’s daughter.
And the truth is, she’s doing very well after several years of mental illness.
Paris Jackson – Youth
Paris Jackson was born on April 3, 1998 in California. She is Michael Jackson’s second child, as well as his only daughter.
At first, the little girl’s life was very private: she and her brother were home-schooled until sixth grade. Michael Jackson was keen on their privacy, and the children were fiercely protected from the public. Early photos of Michael’s offspring showed them either in costume or with scarves around their heads to hide their faces.
As a result, Paris and her siblings lived a very restricted life at Neverland Ranch. No one can say that they weren’t extremely privileged, but at the same time, it must have been tough.
Speaking with model Naomi Campbell in a YouTube interview, Paris Jackson opened up about her father and her upbringing.
She said Michael Jackson made sure they were “cultured.”
“My dad really made sure we were cultured, that we were educated, and not just showing us the glitz and glamour, like five-star hotels,” Paris said.
“It was like we saw it all. We saw third world countries. We saw every facet of the spectrum.”
She talks about her childhood
Paris Jackson lived all over the world during her childhood, while her father toured the world performing in front of hundreds of thousands of people.
She says she was very grateful for her “privileged” childhood. But at the same time, Paris learned early on that she shouldn’t feel privileged. Her father made sure his children understood the concept of having to work for things.
“Even when I was younger, it was about making money,” Paris said. “If we wanted five toys from FAO Schwarz or Toys ‘R’ Us, we had to read five books.
“You have to earn it, not just be entitled to certain things or think, ‘Oh, I have this,’” she added. “You have to work hard for it, it’s something completely different, it’s an accomplishment.”
Paris was only 11 years old when his father died.
Michael Jackson’s Tragic Death
On June 25, 2009, “The King of Pop” suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. Paris and her brothers were placed in the legal care of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in accordance with Michael’s will.
At her father’s televised memorial service, 11-year-old Paris stood before the world to say a few words about her father.
“Since I was born, my dad has been the best dad you could ever imagine,” she said. “And I just wanted to tell him that I love him so much.”
Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael, 12, and Prince Michael II, 7, were all in attendance at the televised memorial service. In fact, it was practically the first time the world got more than just a glimpse of Jackson’s children.
Then, in January 2010, they were seen in public again as they accepted a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for their father at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Paris Jackson – Life After Neverland
In November of that same year, Paris appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show to talk about her father, saying he was amazing.
“I felt like no one understood what a great father he was. He was the best cook in the world,” she told Winfrey. “He was just a regular dad.”
“He made the best French toast in the world,” Paris added.
When Michael Jackson died, Paris Jackson moved into a mansion in Calabasas, California, with her grandmother Katherine Jackson, along with other family members, according to the Daily Mail.
At the age of 19, she decided to move into Michael Jackson’s private studio in the family residence, which she transformed into a dormitory-style bedroom.

Losing your father is hard enough. But for Paris, it was much more than that. Suddenly, she was expected to carry on her father’s legacy.
“I tried to grow up too fast”
When Paris entered fifth grade, she decided to go to a private school. At this point, the only ones who accepted her as she was were the older students, and it didn’t turn out to be ideal.
“I was doing a lot of things that 13-, 14-, 15-year-olds shouldn’t be doing. I tried to grow up too fast and I wasn’t really a very nice person,” she told Rolling Stone.
At the same time, social media had become commonplace and Paris was facing cyberbullying.
“Freedom of speech is a good thing,” she said. “But I don’t think our founding fathers predicted the advent of social media when they created all these amendments and all that.”
Paris experienced a lot of trauma during her teenage years. She even attempted suicide following a very serious incident, but this was also a turning point in her life.

She spent her sophomore year, as well as half of her junior year, at a therapeutic school in Utah, which was great for her.
“I’m a completely different person,” she said. “I was crazy. I was really crazy, I was going through a lot of teenage angst. And I was also dealing with depression and anxiety without any help.”
Paris Jackson – career
Paris graduated high school in 2015, a year early, but at that point, she had a lot on her mind. She was one of the heirs to Michael Jackson’s billionaire inheritance, and everyone saw her as a celebrity, even though she hadn’t actually done anything.
Today, Jackson is heading in the same direction as her father: the entertainment world. She has taken her father’s advice to heart: if you want something, you have to work for it. During the Naomi Campbell interview, Paris said she was “convinced” that she had to make a living herself.
For someone who was born into an incredibly wealthy family, as the child of one of the most famous people in modern history, that’s one thing we really love about Paris. No matter what happened in her past or who her father is, she wants to do what she wants.
She grew up surrounded only by adults, except for her siblings. When she left Neverland to go to a real school, it was a big change for her. She grew up like Michael Jackson’s child, but to her, the world was much more than that. And at first, it was really hard.
“Once I was brought into the real world, I was shocked. I was blown away,” Paris told Harper’s Bazaar. “Not just because it was sexist, but also misogynistic and racist and cruel. It was terribly scary. And it still is.”
Modeling and music
So what did Paris do? She went her own way, starting out as a model. And she has a real talent for it!
In recent years, she has graced the covers of some of the world’s most influential magazines, including Rolling Stone , Vogue and Narcisse , to name a few.
For Paris, modeling is a very therapeutic and natural activity. Many were shocked when her father transformed himself thanks to his numerous plastic surgeries. But in the age of social media and cyberbullying, Paris understands her choice.
“I’ve had self-esteem issues for a long, long time,” she said. “A lot of people think I’m ugly, and a lot of people don’t. But there’s a point when I’m a model where I forget about my self-esteem issues and I focus on what the photographer is telling me — and I feel pretty. And in that sense, it’s selfish.”
Through her Instagram page, Paris’ followers can see her life as she seems to enjoy spending time with her friends, doing all the things in life that she couldn’t really experience at a younger age.
Released his first album
In 2020, she followed in her father’s footsteps by releasing her debut album Wilted . She’s releasing music, but instead of the R&B and pop sound her father was known for, Paris Jackson released an indie-folk album.
“It’s mainly a story about heartbreak and love, in general, and the thoughts and feelings that come after it doesn’t work out,” she told Paper.
Paris Jackson grew up listening to her father’s music and says she knows all the words to his songs. As she created her own sound, it’s inevitable that Michael Jackson’s musical tastes influenced her.
“He loved classical music, jazz, hip-hop, R&B and, of course, anything Motown,” she said.
Paris Jackson has paid tribute to her father on her body, getting over 50 tattoos. Nine of them are dedicated to Michael Jackson.
“I feel him with me all the time”
She doesn’t believe that time heals and has instead learned to live with the tragic loss of her father.
But at the same time, Michael Jackson will always be with her, because she remembers him visiting her in her dreams.
“I live my life with the mindset of, ‘OK, I lost the only thing that was ever important to me,’” she told Rolling Stone. “So in the future, anything bad that might happen can’t be as bad as what happened before. So I can handle it.”
“I feel him with me all the time.”
